On the Road Again!

Have you ever just spontaneously wanted to just go on a road trip somewhere?  But sometimes it's not as simple as getting in your car and driving.  You have to have gas money and snacks and music..etc.  I've been thinking a lot lately about taking a road trip with some friends. I think that is the best kind of road trip.  Blasting music, eating junk food, and being with people you love!  I have a friend who moved to Korea, and she is the type of person I would love to go on a road trip with!  Doing something like being in a car for so many hours with certain people is hard sometimes.  We have to be careful with what we say.  There is also those people who you just adore and can live with forever! But here are some tips and tricks to help with a road trip!

 1.  Have GOOD navigation: It's fun getting lost sometimes, but not too much!

 2.  Music:  Have more music than you need.

 3.  First-aid:  When you are on the road you should always have a first-aid kit somewhere with you.  Don't want to get hurt in the middle of nowhere and have no band-aids!

 4. Stay comfy:  I know wearing cute clothes is "in" but once you are 4 hours in you'll want those comfy sweats.

 5.  Snacks: Don't want to spend a whole bunch of money stopping for food, pack some snacks!  Then you don't have to waste time stopping.

 6.  Pack essentials only:  It can be hard sometimes to leave your hair products/etc at home, but you don't need all that to have a good time.

 7.  Have fun:  Don't be a worry wart.  JUST HAVE FUN!!

Road trips are ways people bond.  When people have the right relationship, it can last forever.  I hope these tips help you.

It gets better

When I was about 9 years old I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety.  Having depression sucks.  Also having anxiety sucks.  But having them together, is living hell.  When you have depression life gets really hard.  You don't want to do things. Or you are just to tired to try.  Or even to scared to go on.  When you are anxious there is a part of you that is constantly wondering if someone is watching you, or is judging you.
With depression and anxiety both,  you just have to remember that it gets better.  It takes a long time to learn how to control the feelings.  But you will find the right way for you to make yourself happy.  You will come to a day where life just really sucks.  And you are thinking to yourself, "Who will miss me?"  I know I have thought that.  Which is really sad.  But I have found a way that reminds me of the people that truly love me.  Most people without either of these..."flaws"  Don't understand that it's not something we can just turn off.  It's not a switch, I wish I was, I would always be off.  I don't think anyone would choose to feel like that.  If you are ever feeling down, or depressed just remember...It gets better.

Out with the Old...

To me the phrase, "Out with the old and in with the new" means to cleanse yourself from all the bad things you have previously experienced, and to begin anew with good things.  Service is a great way to start fresh.  Help out around the house.  Mow your neighbors lawn for them. Find something that helps someone else.  Do something hard.  I might be hard in the beginning.  But in the end, it'll be worth it.  I challenge you all to go out and serve someone.  And not for me, but for you.

#freeKe$ha

I don't know very much about this subject.  But all I do know, Kesha didn't do anything wrong.  She is being treated unfairly.  Kesha deserves a break.  I support Kesha!  I hope someone realizes that Kesha is just trying to get away from the person who hurt her. Share this EVERYWHERE! #FreeKesha

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

"A word you say when you don't have anything to say." You know... I started thinking about this post wanting to write about how I've used all the topics I could think of.  And how there was nothing to write about.  But that is so not true.  There are so many things to write about.  Like "Mary Poppins"  the movie.  It was filmed and produced by Walt Disney in 1964.  The summary is quite simple.

"When Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny's sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents."

But there is more to this movie than just the summary.  It was part of my childhood.  This movie has been a part of so many people lives.

Time magazine said in 2009: "The sets are luxuriant, the songs lilting, the scenario witty but impeccably sentimental, and the supporting cast only a pinfeather short of perfection."

Mary Poppins truly is perfection.  If you haven't seen it.  Watch it.

Future

"Only YOU can control your future" -Dr. Seuss.  Don't let someone else control your future.  If you work hard in the now, you can get a good future. Having a good future isn't just about knowing people or having a job, and having lots of money.  It's about being happy with who you have become on your own.  Being happy is a big part of living on your own and being a part of something bigger. I hope you all find that thing that makes you happy.

Cooking!

When I was little, I loved cooking.  When I played outside my mom would have the window to the kitchen open.  I always heard or smelled my mom making something.  I would run in and help her.  I love cooking, I have since I could remember.  I don't ever remember being bad at it.  When I was about 11 I took the food handlers permit test, and passed! It was easy. But sadly you had to be 16 you get the actual permit card.  So it wasn't official.  I've gone through culinary school twice before the age of 16.  One my Mom taught me, and one was online.  I learned so much.  I made a peacock out of a watermelon!  I wish I had pictures, but sadly I don't know where they are.  One of my new goals for 2016 is too take my food handlers permit test and actually get the card! Haha! My mom is always telling me I should go to culinary school. But I have other ambitions.
If you aren't good at cooking, it doesn't matter.  Practice makes perfect.  And if you are great at cooking, I hope you make others happy as much as I do.

Organization!

Organization is important.  Without it life is chaotic. Organization helps us to keep our selves neat and stable. So here are some tips for better organization.

 1. Space:  Having enough space for better organization is important.  Also having a CLEAN space.

 2. Containers: Have plenty of bins, buckets, and boxes handy to store things in so you don't just have things laying around.

 3.  Labels:  You won't know what is in the containers if you don't label them.

 4.  Daily planner:  Having a planner to sort out your daily schedule makes it easier to stay organized.  You can use an already made planner, or you can DIY it like I did!

 5.  Journal:  Organizing your thoughts is a good way to stay "sane" and is a good way to right down things for your grand-kids to read in however many years down the road.

I hope you found these tips useful.  Until tomorrow!

Earth without ART is eh

Art is one of those things where there are so many different types.  It's pretty amazing.  Art comes in so many different forms.  It could be music, paintings or photography... The list is endless. That's why art is so precious is because it gives life meaning.  It gives people a chance to express themselves in a different perspective.  One of my favorites is Van Gogh, Starry Night.
It's so beautiful.  If you have a favorite type of art, share it with the world.  Don't be afraid of what people will think.  98% of the time, they won't care.  Be YOU.

Creativity

Being creative for some people doesn't come naturally.  But for some people it comes as easily as eating food or using a pencil. I have this "thing" where sometimes I'm the most creative person on earth and I have these amazin ideas falling out of me.  And other times, I'm sitting there like.....HELLO where is my creativity?! It gets frustrating sometimes.  I've had to learn that sometimes we all just don't have the greatest ideas.  We just need to take a break and wait till the next day.  Creativity is a gift, if you have it use it.  If you don't, find it.  It's not hard.

Sisterhood

Sisters are precious.  They can be frustrating and annoying.  But they are always going to be there.  Today I was sitting on my computer on facebook and I thought you myself. "Why not go ask your sister if she wants to play Halo 3 with you." I am horrible at Halo, but I knew she would love playing with me.  So we played for a while. We laughed together and had fun.  These years while we are together under the same roof are important because we build relationships.  The relationships that we build with our siblings last a life time, if you let them.

The early bird...

There are so many benefits to getting up early.  Like the obvious one: You have more hours in the day to get things done.  But some people don't realize the other reasons.  Here are 3 reasons to get up early.
  1. It heightens brains function: People that have identified themselves as "morning people" have higher GPAs and take test more efficiently.

  2.  Organization: Helps to organize your day better and get more things done correctly.

  3. Hours: Maybe the most important thing is hours in the day.  If you get up early, you'll have more hours to get things done.

I know 3 isn't very many reasons to get up early, but getting up early isn't just about the technical reasons.  It's also about the little things. Like walking outside in the early morning and seeing the beautiful sunrise with dancing colors.

I've always loved seeing those things.  The mist coming off the fields.  The bird songs.  It's all so amazing.  Those are the real reason to get up early.  I hope you all find your reason.

Confidence

When you are the person in the corner who stands out because you are overweight, or "weird", or have glasses or your ears are too big like me when I was a kid.  We all have these so called "problems".  But they are only problems if we let them get to us.  We don't have to let our flaws define us.  We're human.  WE ALL HAVE FLAWS.  The problem isn't the flaw itself, the problem is how we think of it. If we embrace our flaws with confidence we will feel powerful.  Not saying we shouldn't try to improve ourselves.  But don't try to fix them in one day.
I've been that person who wants the fast fix.  Which is really bad.  I need to grow out of it. It's hard, but not impossible.  You just have to break the habit and do things that take longer to accomplish.  I know it can be done.  Confidence is an amazing thing.  You don't have to fit into society, make society fit around you.

I Makeup a story

I have a slight obsession with....yup you guessed it  MAKEUP!  It all started about middle school when my mom said I could start wearing makeup.  The deal was she would buy my first set of makeup.  But nothing else after that.  So of course I started saving money as soon as possible so I could buy makeup.  Once I start mastering the art of makeup, I fell in love.
I new we would be best friends for life.  I also love Youtube, and being me one day I looked up "makeup tutorials" on Youtube.  I've watched some pretty amazing people.  My favorite is "Learningtobefearless" She is Stunning.  She also does clothing hauls and other amazing videos.  I have to say, she is my Idol.  I love her, and would love one day to meet her.  Be confident in the makeup you wear.

The Healthier Me

Most everyone likes junk food.  It is a normal human pastime that we all experience.  But sometimes it can have negative side affects that lead to obesity.  Over 69% of the adult American population is obese.  That's a lot.  I'm not saying that's bad.  Some people have medical reasons.   Others though are just struggling to find the motivation.  Like me.  I'm not obese yet, but it I keep going the way I am I will be very soon.  It's hard work.  You have to train your body to not want as much food.  You have to work at it every single day.  Make the habit of walking or jogging everyday.  Instead of making that huge breakfast, make a smoothie full of fresh fruit and protein, and dark leafy greens.

I love, in the morning to make a smoothie out of frozen strawberries, a banana, some orange juice, and a whole bunch of spinach.  It looks brown and nasty but tastes amazing! I also made my own protein power out of oat, lentils, rice, and sunflower seeds, run it through a food processor and you can't ever taste it.
There are so many things that are so easy that you can do to get healthy.  As my dad always said, "Drink more water" which is true, it detoxes your body.  Simply going on a walk for 45 minutes everyday can help you.  When I go on walks, I know it helps me loose weight, and make me feel good because I did something to help myself.
So instead of sitting on your couch all day, get up and go for a walk, or a run, or a jog.  But do something to help yourself.

Courage

I've always had a problem with letting go. I always wanted to keep trying to fix what ever the problem was, and it never made me happy... But seeing this again and again has made me finally realize that its true.  One of the happiest moments in life is when you find courage to let go.  It's so hard.  It really take it out of you.  To find the courage to let g of something that you wanted is probably one of the hardest things I've had to do.  But in the end it's its worth it.
A while ago I thought I was in love with this guy.  Every time I saw him, my heart would skip a beat.  You know all the cheesy love stuff... But, as soon as I told him how I felt, he said he didn't feel that way and started dating one of my best friends.  That really hurt me.  It took me a long time to forgive them.  I would almost break out into tear when I would even see them.  But that didn't matter, because it was making me unhappy.  I needed to find something to help me to move on.  And I did.  I moved on, and it was one of the happiest days of my life.  Try it, it works.

5 Ways to feel GOOD!

Feeling overwhelmed with your to-do list? Finding a balance between work, school, friends and family can be a challenge. If you search you can find a balance.  Here are 5 ways to take a break from all that crazy.
1. Ponder:  Take time to step back from everything and reflect what you have done.

2. Pamper: Take a break and pamper yourself to perfection so you can work efficiently. ;)

3: Appreciation:  Think about the people in your life that have helped you overcome trials.

4.  Service: Go out and serve someone.  Do something hard for someone, in the beginning you might think its hard but in the end it'll be worth it.

5. Reboot: Take a deep breath and go out and start over.  Make a schedule to help you organize your day better.

I know its hard.  It'll take years of practice.  I'll still haven't gotten it perfected yet.  Nobody is going to fit everything in one day. That's why God gave us tomorrow...

Music is LIFE!

You know the saying, "Without music life would B♭" For me that's quite accurate.  I listen to music almost literally 24/7.  There are so many stories that you can here in music.  Each person interprets them differently.  Listening to "Prove you Wrong" By He is We. I might think it's about one thing, but you might think a completely different thing.  That's what I love about music.  There is SO much meaning.  I love everything about music.  I hope you all find something you about music too.

5 Imporpant tips for dating

1. Be friends first: When you build a relationship based on friendship, it's stronger because you know and trust each other more.  The chance of lasting longer is bigger when there is more trust.

2. Expect a Gentleman: If your man isn't a gentleman by nature, he's not a waste of time, you just have to teach him some manners. *He ALWAYS pays *If he honks from the car, don't go out, wait for him to come get you.  *He opens doors

3. Be yourself: If you aren't yourself when you are with the person you love, chances are they don't love the real you. Just that version of you that they see.  Take a chance, show them the real you, it's not as scary as it seems.

4. Respect:  Respect each other. Stay faithful.  Be honest.

5.  Flirting:  Don't flirt with others.

I hope you find love.  xoxo Haley
